Jazz bands hit the right notes at festival finals

Both of Mount Si High School’s jazz bands made the finals of the Spokane Jazz Festival. Jazz band 2 took home third place in its first-ever finals appearance. Jazz band 1 returned to the finals for the third straight year and took home the second-place trophy.

Sno-Valley seniors plan caregiver’s day

The Sno-Valley Senior Center in Carnation is helping and honoring caregivers, people who take care of a spouse, parent, or older family members, with a special event, 1 to 3 p.m. Sunday, March 30.

The “Caregiver’s Day Out” includes free massages, pedicures, manicures, and other surprises. Caregivers can come to enjoy tea, chocolates and conversation, and will receive a caregiver survival kit and an opportunity to network with other family caregivers. Respite care will be provided by the center’s adult day health staff.
