North Bend man, substitute teacher, arrested for child porn

A 64-year-old North Bend man, who works as a substitute teacher, has been arrested for possessing child pornography.

Police were tipped off that he had posted a link to a child porn website on his Facebook page. Police were told that the man works as a substitute teacher in local schools.

Detectives contacted him, investigated and found he was in possession of numerous photos and videos containing "disturbing," sexually explicit images of children, according to a statement by the King County Sheriff's Office.

The man was booked in the King County Jail on Friday, June 15, for Investigation of Possession of Depictions of Minors Engaged in Sexually Explicit Conduct, and then released. He has not yet been charged as a crime, as of Tuesday. The case has been forwarded to the King County Prosecutor’s Office for review.

"There's no indication this guy was taking pictures of students," Sheriff's Spokeswoman Cindi West told the Record. Rather, he collected material from other websites. He was not distributing pornography."
