Back to school for Valley students, and finals week

January 23, 2012 · 5:00 PM

After a week off from school, Valley students were back in the classrooms Monday morning at all 10 schools in the district, and facing finals at Mount Si High School.

Last week's snow and ice storms, along with an extended power outage, and a holiday Monday cancelled classes and most extra-curricular activities throughout the district, including the end-of-semester finals scheduled at the high school. Power was restored to every building by Sunday, and the district announced on its website that classes would resume as normal Monday, along with the finals schedule.

To make up for the four days students missed last week, four days will be added to the end of the year. The last day of school is now set for Friday, June 15. The district has up to four additional make-up days built into the calendar for the year.
