A thief has broken into homes in the High Point area of unincorporated Preston in the last three weeks, stealing several high-value items and causing some property damage. King County Sheriff's personnel are investigating the break-ins, three of which resulted in robberies. In the fourth break-in, the residents were home when an unknown man entered, but he left without incident when one of the homeowners threatened to call the police.

The case is currently under investigation, so the Sheriff's office is releasing few details about the incidents. Three of them occurred Oct. 14, and another occurred in that same week. Items stolen included jewelry, car keys, clothing and electronics. The thief, or thieves, also left a huge mess in the homes after searching them.
