Parent Sherri Zucker, Boy Scout Stuart Odekirk and Scoutmaster Robert Odekirk help Troop 425 members Bruce Corrie and Andrew Harris, right, ready service flags at a flag-raising ceremony at noon Monday, May 30, at the Renton-Pickering American Legion Post in Snoqualmie. Scout groups including Troop 425 from Fall City, Troop 466 and Brownie Girl Scout Troop 1333 took part in memorial ceremonies at Preston, Fall City and North Bend cemeteries and at Mount Si High School, gathering with veterans to honor the memory of those who fell in service to their country.
"So long as we live, they too shall live," Legion member Rich Collingwood told the gathering at the high school. "They are a part of us."
A benefit luncheon is planned through 3 p.m. today at the Legion Post.
