Man run over by heavy tractor airlifted from Snoqualmie logging site

A young man was evacuated by helicopter from a logging site on Weyerhauser property near Snoqualmie Monday morning, Dec. 6.

The man was severely injured when a piece of heavy equipment backed over his leg.

Snoqualmie firefighters provided immediate aid before the man was air-lifted. Firefighter Summers, the officer in charge, said the man's leg had "significant" damage, but he did not expect the man to lose his leg.

"He was fortunate that he was in soft mud," at the time of the accident, Summers said.

The man was taken to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle.
