Parents who wonder whether their children are safe on Facebook or Twitter may want to attend the next meeting of the Mount Si High School Parent-Teacher-Student Association.

Seattle Police Victim Advocate Stefanie Thomas will speak on about the dangers of social media use and how parents can lessen them at the meeting, 6:30 p.m. Monday, Nov. 8, at the school.

Before the presentation, the PTSA will conduct a short business meeting to elect a Nominating Committee. District Superintendent Joel Aune will brief parents on the Feb. 8, 2011. bond election for $56.2 million that will provide funding to construct a middle school to replace Snoqualmie Middle School. The SMS campus is planned to become part of the high school in the fall of 2013. The bond also includes funding for improvements to current school facilities.
