An Eastern Washington man was found dead in his car in a North Bend supermarket parking lot Tuesday afternoon, Sept. 28.

The King County Medical Examiner has identified the man as James Crandall, 36, of Wenatchee. More tests are being done to determine why he died.

Crandall’s body was found at about 5:30 p.m. Tuesday, when King County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to a call about a man presumed dead in the Safeway parking lot off Mount Si Boulevard. Witnesses told deputies that Crandall had been seen at the store for several days in a row, occupying a white Chevrolet sports utility vehicle.

North Bend Police Chief Mark Toner said there were no signs of foul play.

The medical examiner’s office said further studies into the cause of death will take at least eight weeks.
