Snoqualmie and North Bend police are participating in the largest Drive Hammered, Get Nailed DUI campaign ever.

More than 170 law enforcement agencies throughout the state will be out to rid roads of impaired drivers during the campaign, which runs Thursday, Aug. 12, through September 6.

During summer months, Washington experiences the greatest number of alcohol or drug impaired driver-involved traffic deaths. Over the last 10 years, more than 30 percent of the total of impaired driving deaths occurred during the summer. Labor Day weekend is one of Washington’s deadliest holidays, averaging more than seven deaths each year.
