John Anton Stokosa, 81, of Snoqualmie, died Wednesday, July 15.

John was born July 8, 1928, in Fond du Lac, Wis., to George and Dorothy Stokosa. In 1949, he moved to the Snoqualmie Valley, working at a chicken ranch at Ernie’s Grove. He married Anna Marie Persson in 1953.

Over the years, he held a variety of jobs, working for Weyerhaeuser, Lakeside Sand and Gravel and Boeing. In 1968, he went to work for Napa at North Bend Auto Parts, retiring from that job in 1990.

Stokosa had a talent for sculpting and art, and also loved trains and airplanes, visiting many depots, airports and museums.

A memorial is planned for 11 a.m. Wednesday, July 22, at Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic Church.
