In celebration of National Grandparents Day on Sept. 12, the Northwest Railway Museum is hosting a special train ride aboard the Snoqualmie Valley Railroad on Sept. 11 and 12.

During the museum's "Grandparents Grand Excursion" event in Snoqualmie, grandparents ride free all weekend when accompanied by their grandchildren - of any age. Local eateries plan to provide special discounts in conjunction with the museum's event.

Trains will depart every 75 minutes beginning at 11:01 a.m. from the Snoqualmie Depot, 38625 S.E. King St., and at 11:26 a.m. from the North Bend Depot, 205 McClellan St. Round-trip fares are $5 for grandchildren ages 3-12; $8 for grandchildren ages 13-61; and $7 for grandchildren ages 62 and up.

* For information, call the museum at (425) 888-3030 or visit www.trainmuseum.org.
