Civil War quilt presentation coming to Fall City Library.

Drawing from actual diaries of the Civil War era, Art Historian Susan Olds will present a visual account of the amazing quilts made during this time period and tell stories about the women who created them, 2 p.m. Saturday, May 5, at the Fall City Library.

As the nation was divided, women of the North and South made quilts for soldiers as well as commemorative quilts illustrating the lives of heroes and major events of the war.

Olds' program is part of a special KCLS series on the Civil War.
