Tolt spelling champ heads to regional bee

Hunter Montgomery, an eighth grade student at Tolt Middle School, will participate in the King-Snohomish County regional spelling bee Sunday, March 25.
Mongtomery claimed the school's spelling bee championship in a close competition that took many rounds to complete. Runner-up was Lynzee Hoegger. Other competitors included Taylor Amble, Brenden Berg, Amy Chandler, Piper Cramer, Luther Darling, Coulson Darrington, Samuel Eads-Ford, Melissa Elkins, Jackson Frank, Matthew Ibershof, Jackson Armstrong, Samuel Jennings, Gabby Klocek, Alexandra Luther-Gray, Zachary Malcom, Jenna Templin, Ashley Vega, and Kai Viernes.
The winner of the Sunday's regional event will win a trip to Washington, D.C., to compete in the Scripps National Spelling Bee.
