Fresh, local and organic produce is now on the menu at the Sno-Valley Senior Center. Parent organization Senior Services is participating in the Farm-to-Table program to tie organic farmers directly to meal providers. The center’s location near so many organic farms has allowed it to start incorporating produce from Snoqualmie Valley farms into meals.

The program is simple. Each week, Jennifer Berg, the Nutrition Site Coordinator, receives a list of participating farms and their harvesting inventory. Berg is able to match ingredients to upcoming menus and purchase wholesale from the farms.

A daily menu is posted on-line at www.snovalleysenior.org.
