Olivia and Preston Henning and Jana Slechta of Fall City donned turkey headgear to cheer on their friend Julie Peterson, who ran her first-ever fun run Saturday, Nov. 13, during the Snoqualmie Ridge Turkey Trot.

"This is a good deal for her," Slechta said. "We're here to support her."

More than 1,000 people took part in the third annual five-kilometer Turkey Trot, its biggest turnout yet. 550 people ran in the children's 1K run.
