Valley Record’s annual reader photo contest is now open; enter your favorite People, Animal, or Scenic shots by May 10

In case you’ve forgotten, we live in a spectacularly beautiful place, and there are reminders of that wherever you look.

Take for example this photo at right, taken just this week by Fall City drone operator and shutterbug George Conway.

There are amazing scenes anywhere you care to look in the Valley, and you are the ones who capture most of them.

For proof of that, just take a look at all the photo submissions shared to our Facebook page.

We truly appreciate all these submissions, and to show our appreciation, the Valley Record is again holding its annual Amateur Photo Contest, to encourage the artist in all our readers.

The contest is officially open as soon as you read these words, and the submission deadline is May 10. Prizes will be awarded for the first-place photographer in each of three categories, People, Animals and the most popular of them all, Scenic.

To submit your photos in the contest, e-mail them to editor@valleyrecord.com and clearly mark them as contest photos.

Submitted photos should be at least 72 dpi and at least 14 inches wide by 11 inches tall. Limit your submissions to three photos.

Participants should include their city of residence, contact phone number, and a few details on when and where their images were taken.

The results of the contest will be published in the May 24 issue of the Valley Record.

The newspaper reserves the right to publish any photos submitted to the contest in future editions and special sections.
