Rotary of Snoqualmie awards more than $16,000 in grants to local non-profits

Snoqualmie Valley Rotary has announced the community organizations chosen to receive 2017 grants. The awards this year totaled more than $16,000.

Recipients include Boxley’s Music Fund/JazzClubsNW, Community Connections/CarePoint (a new free medical clinic), Life Enrichment Options, Mount Si Band Boosters, Sno-Valley Tilth, Community Gardens (housed at St Claire’s Episcopal Church), St Vincent de Paul, Snoqualmie Valley Community Network, Snoqualmie Valley Unicycle Club, and the Snoqualmie Valley School District Transition Learning Center.

Rotary awards grant funding to non-profit organizations serving people living in the Snoqualmie Valley. Awards are for specific items or programs identified by that organization and then approved by the grants committee.

Each year, Rotary receives more requests than dollars available, making the process of choosing awardees difficult.

Jeff Mumma, Rotary President stated “This is what Rotary is all about. Our motto of ‘Service above self’ is exemplified each year when we give back.”
