Next Valley Center Stage show is comedy ‘Five Women Wearing the Same Dress,’ opening May 5

Valley Center Stage is thrilled to present “Five Women Wearing the Same Dress” by Alan Ball.

In this exquisite comedy, five reluctant, identically clad bridesmaids take refuge in an upstairs bedroom during the reception of an extravagant wedding, each with her own reason to avoid the proceedings below. They are Frances, cousin of the bride and a painfully sweet, sheltered fundamentalist; Mindy, the cheerful, wise-cracking lesbian sister of the groom; Georgeanne, whose heartbreak over her own failed marriage triggers outrageous behavior; Meredith, the bride’s younger sister whose precocious rebelliousness masks a dark secret; and Trisha, a jaded beauty whose die-hard cynicism about men is called into question when she meets Tripp, a charming bad-boy usher to whom there is more than meets the eye.

The show opens Friday, May 5, and runs through May 20, with performances on Thursdays (May 11 and 18), Fridays ( May 5, 12, and 19), Saturdays (May 6, 13 and 20) and a Sunday matinee May 14. Evening shows start at 8 p.m. and the matinee begins at 2 p.m.; doors open 30 minutes before show time.

All shows will be performed at Valley Center Stage, 119 W. North Bend Way, North Bend. Tickets are $17.50 for adults, $14 for seniors and students.
