Mount Si athletes, artists, sign letters of intent for college

On April 19, 20 Mount Si High School seniors gathered with their families, coaches and instructors to celebrate their decisions to accept invitations from colleges and universities across the country to join sports teams and music programs.

Some of the students signed letters of intent that included scholarships, and others signed letters of commitment to join college team rosters.

Musicians in this group had to audition to be accepted into their college music programs.

The Mount Si students who signed commitments for sports programs include:

  • Grant Baker, Xavier University for cross country and track;
  • Max Bonda, Linfield College for football;
  • Jake Brady, University of Puget Sound for baseball;
  • Brennan Dalgleish, Carroll College for football;
  • Gavin Gorrell, University of Northern Colorado for baseball;
  • Heather Hinton, Southern Utah University for softball;
  • Kate Kirschner, University of Texas at Austin for rowing;
  • Abby Kuykendall, University of New Haven for soccer;
  • Jordan Lau, Pacific Lutheran University for golf;
  • Alex Rendon, Pacific Lutheran for football;
  • Emily Springings, St. Mary’s College of California for rowing;
  • Garrett Stiller, Columbia Basin College for baseball; and
  • Lindsey Sydnor, University of Washington for cross country and track.

Students who committed to music and performing arts programs include:

  • Jered Byford, U of Miami for jazz and studio performance;
  • Creed Carlson, Elmhurst College for flute performance;
  • Greta Chappell, Western Washington University for music – piano studies;
  • Jake Gardner, Central Washington University for music education;
  • Kaitlyn Rogers, Western Oregon University for theater performance;
  • Nate Sharp, Central for music education and bass performance; and
  • Natalya Truitt, George Fox University for music performance and film.
