North Bend Elementary School held its rewards assembly for reading achievement on Monday, June 13. As part of this event Unity Lodge No. 198, North Bend Masons presented bicycles and helmets to two students, Aryanna Braddock Finch, first grade, and Drew Berow, third grade. The Bikes for Books awards are part of the school’s comprehensive reading achievement program.

To encourages students to read age-appropriate books, the school conducts many reading achievement contests and offers a multitude of prizes, including books, posters and, for two lucky readers, a bicycle and safety helmet contributed by the Lodge.

Unity Lodge sponsors the annual Bikes for Books program with the participation of Singletrack Cycles of North Bend.

This is the third of five such contributions by Unity Lodge to the reading programs of Snoqualmie Valley elementary schools.
