Local residents earn degrees from Western Governors University

The online not-for-profit Western Governors University, based in Salt Lake City, has conferred degrees on several students from North Bend and Snoqualmie at its 32nd semi-annual commencement ceremony at the Disney Coronado Springs Resort in Orlando Feb. 11.

From North Bend, Jesse Reeh, master of science in curriculum and instruction; Katharine Ingram, master of science in curriculum and instruction; Marilu Bumgardner, master of science in nursing-leadership and management; and Kristina Szilak master of education in instructional design.

From Snoqualmie, Shelly Weber, bachelor of science in nursing; Julie Ehrlich bachelor of science in nursing; and Justin Underwood bachelor of science in IT with a security emphasis.

At the commencement, Will Weatherford, Managing Partner of Weatherford Partners and Former Speaker of the Florida House of Representatives, delivered the commencement address, and joined President Scott D. Pulsipher in honoring the more than 1,000 new alumni participating in the ceremony. Students who were not able to attend the ceremony in person were able to watch the event via live video stream on WGU’s website.
