Local preschoolers give stamp of approval to popular holiday toys

Students at the Snoqualmie location of The Goddard School preschool system took part this year in the organization’s ninth annual holiday toy testing. After playful consideration by the preschoolers, teachers and early childhood education experts, the school announced the top 10 choices from the Preschooler-Approved Toy Test.

The toys, by age range, include:

Click Clack Ball™ by The Manhattan Toy Company®, 0+ years;

Sort and Discover Activity Cube™ by VTech®, 9 to 36 months;

Mirari® Pop! Pop! Piano® by Play Monster™, 12+ months;

Musical Gator™ by Alex Brands®, 18+ months;

Newborn Nursery Newborn Baby by Madame Alexander, 2+ years;

Lauri Tall Stackers™ by Play Monster™, 2+ years;

Gearation Board by John Deere, 3+ years;

Puppy Up™ by Play Monster™, 3+ years;

Yeti in My Spaghetti® by Play Monster™, 4+ years; and

Hexenkuche (Witches Kitchen) by Beleduc USA, Inc., 4+ years.

School staff considered dozens of toy submissions, based on a toy’s ability to encourage interaction and child-initiated play and promoting creativity and collaboration. Children ranging from infants to 6 years old from locations across the country then critiqued the toys and selected their favorites.

“By exploring a range of toys that have been carefully evaluated by our early childhood education team, children help provide insight into both the educational and “fun” value of some of the most exciting new toys on the market,”said Dr. Craig Bach, GSI’s Vice President of Education.
