Kick off planting season at Green Snoqualmie Day, Saturday, Oct. 7

Celebrate fall by planting a tree with family and friends at Green Snoqualmie Day, 9 a.m. to noon Saturday, Oct. 7, at Snoqualmie Point Park and Meadowbrook Slough.

Through the Green Snoqualmie Partnership, an initiative to restore and protect Snoqualmie parks and natural areas, 86,000 square feet of weeds have been removed from local forests.

The partnership invites volunteers to help replace non-native plants with native trees and shrubs, in Green Snoqualmie Day. Gloves and tools will be provided; the event is open to all ages and abilities.

RSVP for Green Snoqualmie Day at info@greensnoqualmie.org or call 425-238-0065.

From its start in 2016, the Green Snoqualmie Partnership has worked on five local restoration sites, gained six forest steward volunteers, and benefited from 250 volunteers working 600 volunteer hours. The partnership includes the City of Snoqualmie, Forterra, King Conservation District, King County Noxious Weeds, Mountains to Sound Greenway, Snoqualmie Ridge Residential Owners Association, the Snoqualmie Tribe, and the Snoqualmie Watershed Forum.
