Falls Forest Theater premieres ‘Once Upon a Mattress’ starting July 15

Snoqualmie Falls Forest Theater opens its 52nd season with the hilarious “Once Upon A Mattress,” performed under a canopy of trees in its open-air amphitheater, surrounded by 95 undeveloped acres of woods, meadows and streams.

Performances will run from July 15 through Aug. 13, with shows on Saturdays at 2 p.m. and 7 p.m. and Sunday matinees at 2 p.m. An optional barbecue dinner is served between shows on Saturdays and after shows on Sundays.

If you thought you knew the story of “The Princess and The Pea,” you may be in for a surprise! Did you know, for instance, that Princess Winnifred actually swam the moat to reach Prince Dauntless the Drab? Or that, in fact, it wasn’t the pea at all that caused the princess a sleepless night?

Music is by Mary Rodgers, lyrics by Marshall Barer, and book by Jay Thompson, Dean Fuller, and Marshall Barer

Tickets are $20 for adults, $18 for seniors and students, $10 for children ages 5 to 12. For more information, visit http://www.foresttheater.org, or send email to info@foresttheater.org.
