Fall City groups plan full day of holiday festivities

Fall City’s 17th annual holiday market will be held from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 3, at Chief Kanim Middle School, 32627 S.E. Redmond-Fall City Rd., in the commons.

Find handmade items from local crafters and artists throughout the community. Pick up fresh wreaths, swags and live poinsettias for your holiday decorating, too.

The Fall City Historical Society will have a table filled with gift ideas, including its 2017 Fall City calendar, featuring historic logging photos, holiday cards, magnets, collectible glasses featuring a 1943 logging truck, and books.

EJ’s Catering will sell food at the market and the bake sale will feature home-baked treats from the Fall City United Methodist Women’s group.

The Chief Kanim Middle School music program will entertain shoppers, as will, Johann Sasynuik playing seasonal holiday music on the piano.

Raging River Riders will also be caroling and collecting food throughout the city, from noon to 4 p.m.

At 4 p.m., the Fall City Elementary and Chief Kanim choirs will perform holiday music in the Fall City Elementary Gymnasium, 33314 S.E. 42nd Pl.

After the concert, the annual lighting of the plum trees in Olive Taylor Quigley Park will happen. The countdown starts just before 5 p.m.

Then, join the crowd and meet Santa at the Fall City Arts Park, across from Olive Taylor Quigley Park, or bring the family to Snoqualmie Valley Alliance Church, 36017 S.E. Fish Hatchery Rd., for a showing of the movie “Elf,” plus carols, treats, crafts and a costume contest.
