Cedarcrest FFA named Two Star Chapter for 2016 National Chapter award by National FFA Organization

The Cedarcrest FFA of Duvall was recognized in the 2016 National Chapter Award Program from the National FFA Organization.

The program recognizes FFA chapters from the country that successfully completed an annual set of required activities that encourage members to grow as individuals, work as a team and serve others in their communities. Chapters that received star ratings during judging July 24 to 29 were recognized at the 2016 National FFA Convention and Expo, Oct. 19 through 22 in Indianapolis. All-star FFA chapters receive honors made possible by corporate sponsor John Deere as a special project of the National FFA Foundation.

“Feeding some 9 billion people by mid-century brings with it unprecedented challenges for today’s farmers,” said Amy Allen, manager, national corporate contributions for John Deere. “The skills and experiences learned though the National Chapter Awards programs will help meet the critical needs.”

The National FFA Organization provides leadership, personal growth and career success training through agricultural education to 649,355 student members who belong to one of 7,859 local FFA chapters throughout the U.S., Puerto Rico and the Virgin Islands.
