Cedarcrest FFA attends Focus on Farming Conference

On Nov. 3, 12 Cedarcrest FFA members attended the Focus on Farming conference at the Monroe Fairgrounds. This Snohomish County event has grown into a regional event with national support.

“The food is awesome, said Brenden Manjarrez Cedarcrest FFA member. “It was neat to see all the local Agriculture Business opportunities available.”

Snohomish County Executive Dave Somers opened the conference, titled “Solutions for the Growing World,” he thanked local farmers for their willingness to work with the county to continue building relationships and to improve the state of agriculture.

The conference feature keynote speakers, networking opportunities and 24 workshop classes in six industry tracks.

Participants also were treated to a gourmet lunch made from locally grown and raised food. Focus on Farming also included a 17,000 square-foot trade show that included displays of new tractors, greenhouse supplies, farm insurance, feed and fertilizer.
