Auditions continue Monday for ‘Five Women Wearing the Same Dress’ at Valley Center Stage

Valley Center Stage invites community members to audition for its upcoming production of “Five Women Wearing the Same Dress” by Alan Ball. The production, directed by Alan Wilkie, will open May 5.

Auditions will be held at 7 p.m. Monday, Feb. 13, at Valley Center Stage in North Bend. There are roles for five women and one man, all in their 20s to 40s.

Those auditioning will be asked to present an approximately 2 minute comic monologue.

“Five Women Wearing the Same Dress” is a full-length play that takes place in the upstairs bedroom of a home in Knoxville, Tenn. The five identically dressed women spend the length of the play hiding out in the bedroom discussing their reluctance for the wedding, the conflicts in their lives, their relationships (with each other as well as love interests), and the reasons they cannot take part in the ostentatious reception happening downstairs.

Rehearsals will begin five to six weeks before performance dates, which will be May 5, 6, 11, 12, 13, 14, 18, 19 and 20.
