The Black Dog Arts Coalition has named Alex Eisenberg the recipient of The Black Dog Arts Coalition Literary Chapbook Prize for her poetry collection, “Holy Ground.” She will receive the award in a chapbook launch celebration, 2 to 4 p.m. Saturday, May 14, at The Black Dog Arts Café, 8062 Railroad Ave. S.E., Snoqualmie.

Eisenberg considers poetry a personal necessity, a spiritual practice, and a form of radical activism. Poetry is where her passions intersect, passions for beauty and living responsibly on the earth, for social and environmental activism, for place-based living and permaculture, for spiritual ecology and soul work.

With the conviction that poetry is both personal and public, and that poems have the power to change our world, The Black Dog Arts Coalition invites the community to gather in celebration with Eisenberg.

The Black Dog Arts Coalition hosts performances and free workshops each year. A non-profit with the mission to grow a rich arts culture and to nurture and support artistic expression and education, the group accepts poetry submissions on a rolling basis, awarding a chapbook prize four times a year.
