Letter: Rep. Reichert is responding to the constituents who put him in office

Rep. Reichert’s actions are exactly why I voted for him. President Trump is keeping his campaign promises and that is why I voted for him.

Where was the outrage when Carter, Clinton and even Obama banned immigration? I would call this politics and not morality.

All of the perpetrators of 9/11 were vetted immigrants and I don’t forget. So much for your vetting process.

Where is the logic when a law-abiding citizen has to go through a much stricter background check to buy a legal firearm, a right that is guaranteed by the Constitution, than an immigrant from a country that has declared war on the United States of America and has sworn to destroy the U.S.?

The United States is at war and it is about time we started acting like it.

I applaud both Rep. Reichert and President Trump. They are responding to their constituents’ wishes, those who voted them into office.

Editor’s Note: Of the 19 men implicated in the Sept. 11, 2001 terrorist attacks on U.S. soil, none were immigrants. One was in the U.S. on a student visa, four were in the country on business visas and the remaining 14 were in the U.S. on tourist visas, which several of them had overstayed by six months or more.

Further, no country has formally declared war on the U.S. although some foreign organizations have done so.
