Letter: Blue, or black, the idea should be that All Lives Matter

I feel a broader perspective is needed and that usually comes with a diverse workplace.

We all know “Blue Lives Matter” and the police help keep us safe, but remember that no one is blue. Police have the choice to remove or take off the blue uniform whenever.

To African Americans such as myself, we see that slogan as trying to undermine our “Black Lives Matter” movement. We don’t have the choice to dispose of our “blackness” like officers have when it comes to their “blueness.”

I just think if support is going to be shown to a “lives matter” movement, then the support should be inclusive to “Black Lives Matter” and “All Lives Matter.”
