Dogs get their day: Animal talent show, beauty pageant at Festival of Mount Si
July 25, 2010 · 5:05 PM
Every dog has his day. Your dog might just get his special moment at the Pet Beauty Pageant and Amazing Animal Talent Show during North Bend's Festival at Mount Si.
The Amazing Animal Talent Show, set for 4 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 14, at the Festival's second stage at Si View Park, is where the dogs show off their public speaking (or singing) ability, or their favorite trick, or their prowess in the obedience ring. Trophies will be awarded for the funniest trick, most original trick, and best execution of a trick.
Then, at 4:45 p.m., the Pet Beauty Pageant begins. Judges are looking for the best dressed pet, prettiest pet, and the pet with the best personality. Organizer Vicki Cowles of Puppy Luv Petsitting and her assistants judge the event, but sometimes ask the audience for help. Volunteers are welcome and appreciated.
This is the seventh year for the pet-related events at the Festival.
