Eye of the beholder Snoqualmie photographers to show work

Snoqualmie photographers Greg Schatzlein and Dusty Cavaliere take their love of the outdoors and adventure sports and combine it with their devotion to photography, bringing viewers a look at the world that few ever see.

Schatzlein and Cavaliere will share their work in a show called “Wild Things!,” Saturday, Sept. 13 through Saturday, Oct. 25 at Pogacha of Issaquah, 120 N.W. Gilman Blvd. After Oct. 25, the show will move to Pogacha of Bellevue, 119 106th Ave. N.E., where it will run through Dec. 6.

Schatzlein and Cavaliere, both of whom have worked in the Northwest’s high-tech industry, have taken their cameras to places both close and remote. Their photos capture the grandeur of the Pacific Northwest and also introduce viewers to the indigenous animals of remote regions such as the Galapagos Islands, Africa, Australia and Turkey.

Their photos are aimed at nature lovers, portraying favorite settings as well as some places where few have gone before. The images vary from revealing the spirit of an animal to evoking beauty of flowers at sunrise.

Schatzlein has retired from a career in the telecom industry. Cavaliere, also an aspiring children’s book author, continues to work in the software industry while pursuing her photography career. Their work can be viewed at www.intothewild.us.
