Snoqualmie student Ariana Chriest (pictured above) and Makenna Griffin are part of CORE Theatrics’ upcoming production of “Secret Garden.”

When asked why she does theater, Ariana replied, “Theatre is the medium through which I experience my life and it is the first love of my life. There is no better way to connect to people and learn about human nature than to investigate and experience it through the lives of other people. It is the single-most rewarding thing I do, both to myself and to my community.”

In “Secret Garden,” the enchanting classic of children’s literature is re-imagined in brilliant musical style. Orphaned in India, 11 year-old Mary Lennox returns to Yorkshire to live with her embittered, reclusive uncle Archibald and his invalid son Colin. “Secret Garden” is a PG show recommended for ages 8 and up.

Show dates and times are April 19, 20, 26, 27 and 28—7 p.m. on Fridays and Saturdays, 2 p.m. on Sundays. Tickets are $16, $14 for students; visit www.coretheatrics.com/upcomingshows.htm. Performances are at the Lake Washington High School Performing Arts Center, 12033 N.E. 80th St., Kirkland.

The show is part of CORE Theatrics.
