Big Star performing arts studio opens on Snoqualmie Ridge

Newly opened on Snoqualmie Ridge, Big Star Studios offers a variety of dramatic arts classes for all ages.

Located at 7723 Center Boulevard, Big Star classes range from musical theatre, drama and music classes to Glee and Pop Star programs to preschool Creative Dramatics.

Also offered is a Rock Star program featuring Everclear lead guitarist Davey French; Pre-Rock Star classes are offered for beginners. Now, anyone who ever wanted to rock out can perform with their beginning-to-advanced band featured at local venues at the end of each session.

“The program is dedicated to building self-confidence and life skills through the art of performance, unlocking the star in all of us,” says co-owner Corey Mosley.  “At Big Star Studios we teach techniques that help develop problem solving skills, public speaking and creativity while putting the students on the path to bring those skills to life through performance.”

Staff includes long time Village Theatre veterans Kathy Gehrig (co-owner), Ashley FitzSimmons and Program Director, Annmarie Farris.

With performance experience, commercial work, runway time and degrees in Music and Theatre Education, the staff is ready to take the students from interested to experienced.

Four different programs, aside from the Rock Star program, are offered.  Classes include:

• Little Stars-for the 2-4 year old. Students can harness all of that energy andimagination into creating scenes and stories with classmates.

• Rising Stars-for all ages. Beginning acting, modeling, and the art of auditioning are introduced to encourage the budding performer in everyone.

• Broadway Stars-for all ages. Intermediate acting, musical theatre and audition-only classes educate and challenge the developing actor.

• Hollywood Stars-2nd grade and above.  Music videos, Glee and popular music are the basis for these classes. Polished performances are a given.

Private voice and guitar are also offered by local professionals.

The studio also offers rehearsals and birthday parties.
