After its first rain-out in decades last Saturday evening, the Snoqualmie Forest Theater’s production of The Wizard of Oz is down to its last three weekends of performances.

This timeless musical, based on the 1939 classic film, brings delight to hearts of any age. The Royal Shakespeare Edition, with its lush score features numbers cut from the film or re-envisioned for the stage.

Ticket sales of both the show and the Forest Theater's renowned barbecue dinners have been brisk with two complete sell-outs to date. Many shows have featured audience members dressed as their favorite Oz characters.

Performances continue Saturdays at 3 and 8 p.m., Sundays at 3 p.m. through August 29.

Tickets are $18 for adults, $16 for seniors and $8 for children. Admission for children 5 and under are free.

Visit www.foresttheater.org or call the box office at 425-736-7252 to order tickets. Show tickets are usually also available on show day at the box office, but reservations are strongly recommended to avoid disappointment.

Dinner and a show

The Forest Theater holds a celebrity chef barbecue for each show. The menu includes steak, salmon or chicken, grilled to order on home-grown alderwood. For children, there are plenty of hot dogs. Vegetarian selections are also available. Reservations are required.

There will be a meet-and-greet with the cast after each performance, so bring a camera to get photos with favorite cast members.
