Blue belt for Fall City youth

Jacob Renner of Fall City was awarded the rank of Blue Belt, or Go-Kyu, in Shudokai Karate Jutsu through the Umibushi Self-Defense Academy.

Renner, a Chief Kanim Middle School student, earned the rank in a ceremony held on a brisk Tuesday, April 6, at E.J. Roberts Park in North Bend. Due to his outstanding performance during testing, Renner was able to skip the rank of Orange Belt.
