Firefighter teams to climb sky high

More than 40 firefighters from Fall City, Snoqualmie, Duvall and Eastside Fire and Rescue will climb for the sky in the 19th annual Scott Firefighter Stairclimb challenge.

The climb is the largest firefighter challenge in the world with more than 1,500 firefighters pushing up 1,311 steps at Seattle’s Columbia Center, more than 700 vertical feet.

Local firefighters seek to raise more than $20,000 in the benefit for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society

Planned fundraisers include:

• Saturday, Feb. 6, at Farmhouse Market in Fall City, Safeway in Duvall and Safeway in Sammamish.

• Saturday, Feb. 13, Starbucks at Snoqualmie Ridge.

• Saturday, Feb. 20, at Farmhouse Market in Fall City and Safeway in Issaquah.

• Saturday, Feb. 27, at Farmhouse Market in Fall City.
