Self defense for moms, teens

Mothers and their teen daughters, ages 12 and up, can learn about self defense at a free two hour seminar, noon to 2 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 23, at the Si View Community Center, 400 Orchard Dr. in North Bend.

Strategies for how to recognize when targeted for assault, and skills to prevent or interrupt an assault will be taught. Pre-registration is required at www.siviewpark.org or by phone at (425) 831-1900. Attendees should wear comfortable clothing and shoes suitable for gym.
