The Snoqualmie Valley School District has embraced new technology to communicate online with students, parents and the community. The district is using e-mail, RSS feeds and a comprehensive e-calendar to help people stay up to date with what’s going on in the schools.

The new tools are also helping save money. The district expects to save $20,000 by ditching a printed calendar in favor of the online version. Events can be viewed by school or type. All ten schools will eventually list their events on the e-calendar. Currently, only three schools — North Bend Elementary School, Chief Kanim Middle School and Twin Falls Middle School — have events listed.

Hard copies of the calendar can be printed from the Web site.

To access the calendar, visit www.svsd410.org and click on the e-calendar icon in the bottom right of the page. Mount Si High School’s athletic calendar is available at www.digitalsports.com.
