The Mount Si Cheerleaders left the Washington Cheerleading State Championships, held Saturday, Jan. 24, at Everett, with something extra to cheer about.

The Wildcats took second place in the state tournament for the medium varsity division, rising above many other Washington squads.

After making many changes to their routine between their first competition, held Saturday, Jan. 10, and the championships to increase their score, coach Jessii Stevens expressed confidence that her team would do well.

It was hard for the team to predict the outcome, knowing other squads would step up their routines, the Wildcats pulled together for state, giving hard work and dedication to grab the second-place finish.
