Carnation Mayor Mike Flowers, left, cuts the ribbon to the new Carnation Library with the help of local children, culminating the opening ceremony Saturday, Jan. 31. The new 5,000-square-foot library opened at the site of the former library at 4804 Tolt Ave. The new facility has a community meeting room, children’s and teen areas and more space for studying and reading. It is open 10 a.m to 9 p.m. Monday through Thursday, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Friday and 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday.
