Over the river, through the woods at Valley Center Stage

The poignant comedy “Over the River and Through the Woods” opens Thursday, March 27, at Valley Center Stage, and runs through April 12.

Nick is a single, Italian-American guy from New Jersey. His parents retired and moved to Florida. That doesn’t mean his family isn’t still in Jersey. In fact, he sees both set of his grandparents every Sunday for dinner. But he’s just been offered a dream job. The job he’s been waiting for as a marketing executive would take him to Seatttle and away from his beloved, but annoying, grandparents. The news doesn’t sit so well with them. Thus begins a series of schemes to keep Nick around.

How could he betray his family’s love and move to Seattle, for a job, wonder his grandparents?

The show is directed by Jim Snyder and played by Dylan Cook, Dave Selvig, Julia Buck, Kathy Roche-Zujko, Floyd Reichman, and Becky Rappin.

Performances are at 7:30 p.m., Thursdays through Saturdays. A matinee is set for 2 p.m. Saturday, March 29.
