Lots of scholarships in Cedarcrest's annual Awards Night

Nearly 27,000 in local scholarships were presented to Cedarcrest High School seniors on May 30 at the senior awards night, along with many honors conferred. Among the students recognized were four students who've already earned their associate's degrees through the Running Start program, John Nixon, Hazel Zoeger, Charlie Chittenden and Amy Gamache.

Three students, valedictorian Andrew Burnell, Madison Michaud and Rose Wade, were honored as National Merit Commended Scholars, and Alesha Cronie was recognized for making the National Achievement Scholarship Program. Ryan McGinnis was recognized as the class salutatorian. Another 10 students were named distinguished seniors, receiving the "Pride of the Pack" award. They are Burnell,  Cailyn Connelly, Maggie Gronberg, Molly Hammontree, Jerrica Kjorsvik, Clayton Lacher, Kylie Leslie, Bennett Minnie, Kathryn Sherman and Elliott Wills.
