Safety concerns: Follow-up meeting is Thursday in North Bend

Following a well-attended May 16 community meeting on crime and public safety, the city of North Bend is planning to host a series of monthly meetings on related subjects. The next meeting, 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, June 20, at Mount Si Senior Center, will focus on home security.

The topics of future meetings could include many of the subjects touched on at the first meeting, including crime prevention, homeless issues and the homeless shelter, and drug use. Meetings will be the third Thursday of each month, and will conclude with a discussion of the next topic to cover.

The meetings are intended to be interactive discussions rather than lectures.

Check the city’s website,, each month for the next meeting topic. Residents can also contact Police Chief Mark Toner to offer suggestions, input, or feedback for future meetings, at (425) 888-4438, or to Mark.Toner@KingCounty.Gov.
