A meeting for people interested in starting their own organic farm under the mentorship of an experienced farmer is 2 to 4 p.m. Saturday, March 16, at Jubilee Farm in Carnation.

Farmers in the Snoqualmie Valley have initiated a Mentoring Program to help connect people who want to pursue organic farming as a livelihood to available farm land, and to experienced farmers who can help them get started.

The organization of organic farmers in the Valley, Sno-Valley Tilth (SVT), and the Cascade Harvest Coalition, are co-hosting the meeting at Jubilee Farm. The event is designed for people who have the interest and are ready—with a little help—to get the ball rolling.

Leasing land for farming can have significant property tax advantages. Come to the meeting or contact SVT if you have land you would consider leasing.

Attendees are also welcome to join Sno-Valley Tilth members and friends for a St. Patrick’s Day Bash held at the Carnation Tree Farm, starting at 4 p.m. Get all the details at http://www.snovalleytilth.org/.
