With One VOICE: Snoqualmie Valley seeks donations for families this season

One VOICE (Valley Organizations in Collective Effort) is launching a donation drive for a large assortment of items as a prelude to a December holiday event for families in need in the Snoqualmie Valley.

Local financial institutions will also be joining the collection efforts for One VOICE. Donations of new and gently used coats can be made at Sterling Bank, Chase Bank, Bank of America, Opus Bank, Key Bank and Sno-Falls Credit Union. Donations will be accepted now until Tuesday, Dec. 11.

Donations of other items including gift cards, non-perishable food, gingerbread house kits, personal toiletries, new and gently used winter clothing, shoes and boots, dental products, toilet paper, diapers and wipes will also be collected in North Bend at Encompass Main Campus, 1407 Boalch Ave N.W. and Chaplin’s North Bend Chevrolet, 106 Main Ave. N. and in Snoqualmie at Peak Sports and Spine, 7726 Center Blvd. S.E., Suite 220 and Snoqualmie Chamber of Commerce, 38767 S.E. River St. Many other local organizations will also be coordinating drives for these items as well.

The One VOICE Holiday Event will run Thursday and Friday, Dec. 13 and 14, 2012, at the Church of Latter-day Saints at 527 SW Mount Si Blvd., North Bend, and includes distribution of cold weather clothing along with other necessary items and gifts to keep families in need warm and happy during the holiday season. The event includes the Kiwanis Giving Tree and Encompass Respectful Giving.

One VOICE was organized in 2010 to coordinate opportunities to serve families in need and allow them to discover resources available to them in the Snoqualmie Valley. One VOICE includes more than 40 businesses, healthcare professionals, social-service programs, schools, churches, local governments and community organizations.
