Shred it! Dump documents on Saturday at North Bend QFC

April 18, 2012 · 4:12 PM

Identity theft is a huge problem, but you can help protect yourself at Shred Day, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, April 21, outside the North Bend QFC.

Sno Falls Credit Union and Recall Secure Destruction sponsor the visit of a shredder truck to the Valley. Shredding of up to two boxes of documents is free, paper only.

According to the Federal Trade Commission, as many as 10 million Americans have their identities stolen each year. The first deterrent is to safeguard personal information by shredding documents before they are discarded.

Community members are invited to bring their obsolete checks, prehistoric tax returns, bank statements—any financial documents and paperwork with personal information on them to be shredded.
