Preschoolers can learn martial arts at North Bend's Encompass with help from DMW

January 30, 2012 · 4:01 PM

Children will learn focus skills and gain confidence and self-discipline through this six-week martial arts program, co-sponsored by DMW Martial Arts and Fitness of Snoqualmie.

All instructors are qualified black-belt martial artists who will teach the fundamental skills necessary for 4- to 5-year old preschool students to earn their first belt. The class culminates in a graduation ceremony on Friday, March 16 and family can take part in the celebration.

The series begins Friday, Feb. 3, from 9 a.m. to noon.  Classes are also scheduled for Feb. 10, 17, March 2, 9 and 16. All classes will be held at the Encompass Main Campus, 1407 Boalch Ave. N.W., North Bend.

Cost is $120 per child for the entire series, including snacks.  Space is limited. To register, contact Stacey Cepeda, manager of community activities at Encompass, at 425-888-2777.
