Cedarcrest students to make up Random Acts of Kindness Week

The Cedarcrest High School Random Acts of Kindness club has called for a do-over, since severe weather and power outages last week made the event a low priority for many. This week, Jan. 23 to 27 is the do-over week, with the following suggestions for random acts of kindness:

Monday – Help with the storm clean-up. Pick up branches, shovel snow, or offer a ride to someone who is still stuck in the snow. Take water or a warm meal to someone who is still without power/water.

Tuesday – Take time to be thankful. Tell business owners, police officers, firefighters, teachers, mail carriers and package deliver drivers "thank you!" Kids and parent, thank each other for all that they do for you.

Wednesday – Dine Out in Duvall! If you are able, leave an extra big tip or pay for someone’s meal that is setting at a table next to you.

Thursday – Shop locally, for birthday presents, early Valentine’s Day gifts or just a little something for yourself or your kids.

Friday — Honk as you drive past a local business, to show that you like them

Saturday – Plan a random act of kindness together as a family. Help out a neighbor or friend. Take a donation to a local food bank. Secretly pay for someone’s coffee, gas, groceries or meal.

Sunday – Turn off those electronics and do something together as a family. Play a game, go for a hike, visit an elderly loved one. Go to church together and then have pizza and a movie night together.
